1. Delay as Spatial Distance and Material Propagation
When time is removed as a fundamental dimension, delay is no longer understood as an interval of waiting. It becomes a condition of spatial separation: the distance across which a physical configuration must extend in order for change to become distributed.
Every transmission is therefore a spatial relation. Signals, light, neural impulses, and mechanical forces do not move through an abstract temporal container; they propagate through material space. The apparent lag of an event is the physical distance between one configuration and another, the gap across which a state must be transferred.
Likewise, a mark upon a surface is not a preserved moment from a previous state. It is a material displacement: pigment distributed across a support, graphite rearranged along a plane, pressure altering the structure of matter. What appears as a trace of the past is instead a present spatial configuration containing the evidence of previous material relations.
2. Irreversibility as Non-Reconstructible Configuration
Without time, irreversibility is no longer the inability to return to a former moment. It is the impossibility of perfectly restoring a prior spatial arrangement once matter has been displaced.
A configuration exists as a unique organization of particles, forces, surfaces, and relations:
The transition does not create a separation between past and future states; it creates a difference between spatial organizations.
When graphite moves across a surface, when a structure is altered, or when matter is rearranged, the entire surrounding field of relations is modified. A return to the original arrangement would require not only repositioning the displaced matter but restoring every affected relation within the surrounding system. Any attempt at reconstruction introduces further displacement and therefore produces another configuration rather than the original one.
Irreversibility is therefore not a property of time but a property of material complexity: configurations cannot be perfectly inverted because every transformation alters the total spatial field in which it occurs.
3. Scintillation as Spatial Multiplicity
In a purely spatial framework, scintillation is not a transition occurring through time. It is the emergence of multiple simultaneous relations between an observer, an object, and the physical structures that connect them.
The eye does not receive a fixed reality from a fixed position. Ocular movement, changes in focus, bodily orientation, and neural organization continuously establish different spatial relationships with the same material site.
The artwork remains physically present as a configuration of surfaces, textures, and structures. Yet the observer encounters it through a shifting network of spatial correspondences. The perceived variation does not arise because the object changes through time, but because different spatial relations reveal different aspects of the same configuration.
The artwork becomes a sovereign spatial field: a site where multiple possible arrangements of perception coexist without requiring temporal succession.
4. Apeiron as Infinite Spatial Potential
Without time, Apeiron is no longer an infinite continuation of becoming. It is the inexhaustible openness of spatial possibility itself.
Space contains no final arrangement of matter, no complete configuration that exhausts all possible relations. Every structure occupies one organization among innumerable potential organizations: every displacement creates new relations, every interruption reveals further possibilities, and every material arrangement remains incomplete in relation to the total field of possible configurations.
Apeiron is therefore not endless duration but unlimited configurability. It is the boundless capacity of matter to be arranged, separated, combined, and transformed beyond any fixed representation.
Conclusion: Reality as Configuration
A reality without fundamental time is not a static reality. It is a reality of spatial relations, material differences, and non-identical configurations.
What appears as temporal becoming is instead the unfolding of spatial difference: the continuous revelation of configurations that cannot be reduced to a single fixed order.

同様に、支持体に刻まれた痕跡は過去の瞬間が保存されたものではない。それは物質の変位である。支持体上に分布した顔料、平面上に再配置されたグラファイト、圧力によって変化した物質構造。過去の痕跡のように見えるものは、実際には現在の空間的構成であり、以前の物質的関係の証拠を含んでいる。
2. 非可逆性 ― 再構成不可能な空間配置として
時間を前提としない場合、非可逆性は「過去の瞬間に戻れないこと」ではなく、物質が一度変位した後に、以前の空間配置を完全に復元することが不可能であるという意味になる。
構成とは、粒子・力・表面・関係の固有の組織である。

この移行は過去と未来の状態を分離するのではなく、空間的組織の差異を生み出す。
グラファイトが支持体上を移動するとき、構造が変化するとき、物質が再配置されるとき、周囲の関係場全体が変化する。元の配置に戻るには、変位した物質を再配置するだけでなく、周囲のシステム内で影響を受けたすべての関係を復元しなければならない。再構成の試みはさらなる変位を生み出し、結果として元の構成ではなく新たな構成を生み出す。
したがって非可逆性は時間の性質ではなく、物質的複雑性の性質である。あらゆる変換はそれが起こる空間的場全体を変化させるため、構成は完全に反転できない。
3. シンチレーション ― 空間的多重性として
純粋に空間的な枠組みでは、シンチレーションは時間を通じて起こる遷移ではない。それは観察者・対象・それらを結ぶ物理的構造のあいだに生じる複数の同時的関係の出現である。
眼は固定された位置から固定された現実を受け取るわけではない。眼球運動、焦点の変化、身体の向き、神経組織は常に同じ物質的サイトに対して異なる空間的関係を形成する。
作品は、表面・質感・構造の空間的構成として物理的に存在し続ける。しかし観察者は、変化する空間的対応関係のネットワークを通じてそれを経験する。知覚の変化は対象が時間的に変化するために起こるのではなく、異なる空間関係が同じ構成の異なる側面を開示するために起こる。
作品は主権的な空間場となる。そこでは複数の知覚的配置が時間的継起を必要とせずに同時に共存する。
4. アペイロン ― 無限の空間的可能性として
時間を前提としない場合、アペイロンは無限の生成の継続ではなく、空間的可能性そのものの尽きることのない開放性となる。
空間には物質の最終的な配置は存在しない。すべての構成は無数の潜在的構成のうちの一つである。あらゆる変位は新たな関係を生み、あらゆる中断はさらなる可能性を開示し、あらゆる物質的配置は可能な全構成に対して常に未完である。
したがってアペイロンは無限の時間ではなく、無限の構成可能性である。物質が固定的な表象を超えて、分離され、結合され、変換され得る無限の能力である。
結論：構成としての現実
根本的な時間を持たない現実は静的な現実ではない。それは空間的関係、物質的差異、同一ではない構成の現実である。
遅延は距離となり、 非可逆性は完全な再構成の不可能性となり、 シンチレーションは空間的知覚の多重性となり、 アペイロンは物質配置の無限の開放性となる。
